Studio Wednesdays - Week 3 & 4

So - Last Wednesday was the 4th of July holiday...and I really did take a holiday.  Falling asleep mid-afternoon. 

About a year ago I found this item on the side of the road (near a stop light).  I've been wanting to use it in a piece for a long time.   I think I've finally found a way to do so.

This week ( July 11, 2012) I went over to my friend Marie's house and spun while watching the Tour de France at 7:30.  I am participating in the "Tour de Fleece" on Ravelry; hundreds of fiber artists spin during the race.  There are some prizes (by random drawing) but I mostly want to improve my technique and ultimately the quality of yarn I spin.  I did half of this in the 4 hour sprint this morning:

I plan to ply to the two together tomorrow after dinner.  I have another yarn I spun earlier this year, which is about 200 yards of worsted weight I think this will be a similar weight.  I would like to use the two of them together in a sweater.
